Acrotomophilia - Causes, Symptoms & Treatment

Acrotomophilia is the medical term for the sexual desire of amputees. The love of (or sexual attraction to) amputees. It is a fetish focused on amputations, generally of limbs. Apotemnophilia pertains to self-amputation. There are two subtypes of this fetish. Acrotomophiles are also known as "devotees." Apotemnophilia is an intense desire to be an amputee. Someone who has this fetish may even ask their partner to wrap one of their limbs in a bandage to fulfill their fantasy. In its most extreme forms, a person my be unable to become aroused or achieve orgasm with anyone who does not have an amputation. Therefore in apotemnophilia and acrotomophilia the desire for amputation may be a "counterphobic" antidote for males who fear castration.
